I recently visited “Sailor Bar & Restaurant,” a place known for its affordable cocktails, steak, and live music, located just about a minute’s walk inland from Pattaya Beach. I’d like to share my review.

Pattaya, a familiar resort destination for Bangkok residents, has “Sailor Bar & Restaurant” located about a minute’s walk inland from its central Pattaya Beach.
My theme for this trip was “to experience music,” so I chose to stay at the Hard Rock hotel. On the first night, I splurged on a visit to the Hard Rock Cafe, so for the second day, I decided to explore the entertainment district. I found this place, Sailor Bar, through a Google search. The deciding factor was that it offered “enjoyable cocktails and steak at a great value.”
The area around Sailor Bar is lined with many bars where beautifully dressed women entertain men, giving off a somewhat seedy atmosphere. Families might need to be prepared for this. It only takes a minute or two to pass through this area. (While there were a few such women at Sailor Bar, they weren’t overly flashy, so it was fine even with children.)
I’m glad I called ahead. Just as I arrived, the live music performance began. There is no cover charge for the music. If you enjoy the performance, consider leaving a tip. They played soulful renditions of my favorite old Western pop hits, creating a very moody atmosphere.

For drinks, I had a “Pina Colada” (70B) and a non-alcoholic “Mango Shake” (60B). …The price of the Pina Colada! It was a proper alcoholic cocktail, and it wasn’t even happy hour. Plus, it was delicious. For only a 10B difference, I would definitely choose the cocktail! Other alcoholic drinks are also incredibly cheap!
For food, I ordered the “T-bone Steak Dish” (180B). It was undoubtedly beef, and I estimate it was about 100g. I chose mashed potatoes from the various potato options. It also came with a side of vegetables on the same plate. Honestly, I couldn’t expect much for this price, but it was perfectly adequate to enjoy with drinks and music.
