Introduction
I recently visited the Gapao rice specialty shop “EASY! buddy Sathorn Corner,” located about a 6-minute walk from Chong Nonsi BTS Station on the Silom Line, and I’d like to share my review.
About the casual Gapao rice shop “EASY! buddy” in Sathorn
The Gapao rice specialty shop “EASY! buddy” is located about a 6-minute walk from Chong Nonsi BTS Station on the Silom Line. “EASY! buddy” means “It’s easy, buddy!” and as its name and exterior suggest, it’s a pop-up Gapao rice shop. It might feel similar to “Phed Mark” in Ekkamai. When we visited, there were many young male and female office workers on their lunch break. This might be due to its location in the Sathorn area.
While Phed Mark has only one store in Ekkamai and one delivery-only store in Thonglor, EASY! buddy has over 8 locations in Thailand and is reportedly expanding. EASY! buddy can be found in Sathorn, Thonglor, CentralWorld, Siam Center, Central Embassy, Phayathai, Central Ladprao, and One Bangkok, among others.

Menu at “EASY! buddy” (Photos, Prices, Review)
Gapao rice is their signature dish, but my friend mentioned they had a “Pepper Lunch-like menu,” which piqued my interest, so I ordered it. I got the “Pork Garlic Peppercorn Fried Rice with Sliced Pork” for 189B+ and added the “Set” for 59B+. The set included a crispy duck egg, caramelized corn, soup, and pickles.
Personally, I think it surpasses Pepper Lunch by far. The garlicky and peppery aroma, the texture of the corn, the seasoned sliced pork, and the way it all comes together with the rice is fantastic. I found the taste to be addictive. And the set menu was also superb. The duck egg is common in Gapao dishes, and it’s richer than a chicken egg. Then there’s the caramelized corn. It’s grilled corn with a caramel glaze, sweet and delicious. I loved the taste!
By the way, a medium bottle of Singha beer was 120B+. Like the food, it was a bit on the pricey side. Nevertheless, it’s a popular restaurant that’s always busy.

Recommendation Score for “EASY! buddy”
To be helpful, I’ll assign a score following the style of Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site). I personally feel that “EASY! buddy Sathorn Corner,” a Gapao rice shop near Chong Nonsi BTS Station on the Silom Line, is worth about a 3.4 on the Tabelog scale. I’ll leave this note here for reference.
The standout feature is definitely the flavor of the Pepper Lunch-style peppercorn fried rice. It’s incredibly delicious. It would be even more enjoyable if the price were slightly lower, but I think this type of eatery tends to be popular in Thailand even with slightly higher prices.
Conclusion
