Introduction

I recently visited the Japanese-style curry restaurant “Mikura Curry” located in the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, about a 7-minute walk from MRT Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre Station. I’ll be reviewing my experience.

About the Japanese-style curry restaurant “Mikura Curry” in Queen Sirikit National Convention Center

The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center is located about a 7-minute walk from MRT Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre Station. In its basement, you’ll find the Japanese-style curry restaurant “Mikura Curry”. It might be a little hard to find as it’s tucked away.

The interior has a simple, cafe-like atmosphere.

Mikura Curry Menu (Photos, Prices, and Review)

While Mikura Curry’s main offering is Japanese-style curry, they also have a variety of other Japanese dishes. These include tonkatsu, katsudon, tendon, ramen, omurice curry, udon, gyoza, and teriyaki, among others.

I ordered the “Japanese-Style Fried Chicken Curry (169 THB)”. Despite being called Japanese-style, it had a strange sweetness that I didn’t particularly care for. The fried chicken also had a similar sweetness, and the crust was surprisingly hard. The fukujinzuke (pickled relish) was even sweeter.

Mikura Curry Recommendation Score

To be helpful, I’ll assign a score based on the Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site) system. For Mikura Curry at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, I personally feel it’s equivalent to around a 2.9 on Tabelog. I’ll leave this note here.

Conclusion

I cannot highly recommend the Mikura Curry at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, at least based on the curry I tried that day. It’s possible it was a one-off mistake in flavor, or perhaps it just didn’t suit my palate. Other menu items might be more delicious, so I encourage you to try it for yourself.
