Introduction

I recently visited the budget-friendly Thai street food village “Jarunee” near Emporium, about a 1-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong station, and would like to share my review.

About the budget-friendly Thai street food village “Jarunee” in Phrom Phong

Jarunee, a budget-friendly Thai street food village, is located about a 1-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong station. It’s situated along Sukhumvit Road, near the Emporium.

Jarunee is a street food village comprising several food stalls. Near the entrance along Sukhumvit Road, three to four stalls are lined up, and you can see tables and chairs spread out further inside. It might seem a bit dark and uninviting at first, but don’t hesitate to go in. You’ll find a world where you can enjoy Thai food at prices unbelievably low for the area near the Emporium. The dining space extends further back, capable of seating over 100 people.

While a Thai meal at the Emporium, EmQuartier, or EmSphere can be quite expensive, the Thai food at Jarunee is street food price, costing less than 100 THB. Plus, delicious drinking water is free. It seems to serve as a cafeteria for Thai office workers in the vicinity.

I ate at the Khao Soi stall at the very back.

Jarunee Menu (Photos, Prices, Review)

I ordered the “Khao Soi, Large size, 80 THB.” I regretted not getting the medium size later due to the portion. The medium size is 60 THB. At “Ong Tong” in the EmQuartier food court, a medium size costs 119 THB, making Jarunee’s about half the price. It’s cheap. While not as elaborate as Ong Tong’s Khao Soi, it’s still sufficiently delicious. You can add toppings freely. You’ll be given a price tag with your order, so take it to the cashier after you finish eating.

Besides Khao Soi, they offer various other Thai dishes at affordable prices. Jarunee is a convenient spot if you want a light meal in Phrom Phong.

Jarunee Recommendation Score

To be helpful, I’ll assign a score following the style of Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site). For Jarunee, the budget-friendly street food village near the Emporium in Phrom Phong, I personally estimate it to be around a **3.1 on the Tabelog scale**. I’ll leave this note here.

The biggest point in its favor is the price. It’s fantastic to be able to eat at street food prices in such a prime location near the Emporium. Furthermore, delicious drinking water is available for free. However, the taste is commensurate with the price.

Conclusion

The budget-friendly Thai eatery “Jarunee” near the Emporium in Phrom Phong is wonderful for its prime location and street food prices. It’s recommended for those looking for a quick and affordable meal in Phrom Phong.
