Introduction

I recently visited the direct-from-wholesaler yakiniku restaurant “Nikusho Yakiniku” located about a 9-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong Station, and I’d like to share my review.

About the direct-from-wholesaler yakiniku restaurant “Nikusho Yakiniku” in Phrom Phong

Nikusho Yakiniku is located about a 9-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong Station. The restaurant is situated on Sukhumvit Soi 31.

Nikusho is a yakiniku restaurant operated by a meat wholesaler, offering fresh Wagyu beef at reasonable prices. The lunch sets, in particular, are priced affordably and are available daily, regardless of the day of the week.

Nikusho once had around 10 branches in Thailand, including locations outside of Phrom Phong. However, it appears that some of these have since closed. Specific details are unknown.

Menu at “Nikusho Yakiniku” (Photos, Prices, Review)

I ordered the “Mashimashi Lunch Set” option: “Mashimashi Harami Tasting Platter” for 380B++. This generous and voluminous lunch set features three types of harami (skirt steak): Nikusho Harami, Premium Harami, and A3 Wagyu Harami, totaling 200g. The set also includes rice, a green onion salad, namul (seasoned vegetables), soup, ssamjang, and ice cream. Everything was delicious, but personally, I preferred the premium harami.

My friend ordered the “Mashimashi Lunch Set” option: “Mashimashi Harami x Beef Tongue” for 280B++. This set includes harami and beef tongue. According to my friend, it was 100B++ cheaper than the tasting platter and also tasted great.

Unfortunately, shortly after my visit, in June 2025, the menu underwent a significant revision, and the lunch sets have generally seen a price increase. Additionally, the weekday lunch happy hour, which offered drinks including wine for just 49B++, has been discontinued. I was particularly disappointed as I had been delighted to find another great spot for daytime drinks, comparable to the Old English Pub and Ebisushoten. I sincerely hope it makes a comeback.

Rating for “Nikusho Yakiniku”

To provide a reference point, I’ll assign a score inspired by Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site). For the direct-from-wholesaler yakiniku restaurant “Nikusho Yakiniku” near BTS Phrom Phong Station, I would personally rate it around a 3.3 on Tabelog. (Note: 3.5+ is generally considered well-regarded on Tabelog).

The high score is due to the ability to enjoy delicious yakiniku at a reasonable price during lunchtime. On the other hand, as mentioned above, the discontinuation of the happy hour was a critical factor for me. I can only hope for its return.

Conclusion

“Nikusho Yakiniku,” a direct-from-wholesaler yakiniku restaurant near BTS Phrom Phong Station, is a great option for enjoying a slightly luxurious and delicious yakiniku meal at a good value during lunchtime. It’s recommended for those looking for a yakiniku lunch.
