Introduction
I recently visited the wine bar “CASK” located about a 3-minute walk from BTS Thong Lo Station, and I’d like to share my review.
About the wine bar “CASK” in Thonglor
The wine bar “CASK” is located approximately a 3-minute walk from BTS Thong Lo Station. You’ll find it down a small alley just before “Ebis Shoten” on Sukhumvit Road. “Yakitori & Oden Itoya” is also located on the same alley. CASK and Itoya share the same Japanese owner.
There were other customers, so I couldn’t take photos, but CASK is characterized by its U-shaped counter. This counter design creates a comfortable sense of personal space, and before you know it, you might find yourself chatting with the people next to you or across from you. The clientele seems to be mostly Japanese expatriates in their 30s to 50s. The majority of the customers are Japanese. While Thai or other Southeast Asian staff usually manage the bar, occasionally the Japanese owner, Ito-san, steps in and helps create a pleasant atmosphere.
Menu at “CASK” (Photos, Prices, Reviews)
They offer house red and white wines by the glass starting from 200 THB+. Bottles are available in various options starting from around 1,000 THB+. I enjoyed a glass of wine, and it was served in excellent condition. The dim lighting perfectly complements the wine.
They also have highballs for 150 THB+.
There are various food options available, but I haven’t tried them yet and usually order delivery from Itoya. It’s quite reasonable and stylish to enjoy wine with yakitori (salt-grilled) skewers for 20 THB+.
Additionally, they offer a “Chef’s Recommendation Course” for two or more people at 499 THB+. This generous course includes Caesar salad, a cheese platter, ham and pickles, shrimp ajillo, beef hamburger steak, and arrabiata pasta. I saw a neighboring table having it, and it looked very delicious. It seems like great value. While I’m not sure of the exact details, they also seem to offer a “Meat Course” for 699 THB+ and a “All-You-Can-Drink Course” for 1280 THB.

Rating for “CASK”
To be helpful, I’ll assign a score based on Tabelog’s (Japan’s top restaurant-review site) rating system. For the Thonglor wine bar “CASK,” I would personally rate it around a 3.3 on the Tabelog scale.
Conclusion
The wine bar “CASK” in Thonglor, with its U-shaped counter, allows you to enjoy wine and food in a lively atmosphere with other customers. They also offer authentic course menus, making it recommended for dates with a partner or gatherings with friends.
