Introduction

I recently visited the ramen restaurant “Naruto Ramen” located about a 7-minute walk from BTS Thonglor Station, and I’d like to share my review.

About the ramen restaurant “Naruto Ramen” in Thonglor

Naruto Ramen is located about a 7-minute walk from BTS Thonglor Station, along Sukhumvit Soi 53. The route there can seem a bit desolate with fewer shops, but rest assured, you’re heading in the right direction.

The interior of Naruto Ramen is very clean and spacious, offering a comfortable dining experience.

Naruto Ramen Menu (Photos, Prices, Review)

Craving Jiro-style ramen in Bangkok, I found Naruto Ramen. I immediately ordered the “Jiro Ramen” for 320 THB. You fill out a topping sheet and hand it to the staff. I chose “extra kaarame, kaatame, vegetables, garlic, and abura.”

The ramen arrived in about 5 minutes. Served in a large bowl, it was piled high with chewy noodles and vegetables. The portion size felt like double that of a typical ramen shop, perhaps similar to the Ikebukuro East Exit branch. The soup was slightly emulsified, which was a good sign. It included a large piece of pork and a seasoned egg. The taste was delicious – authentic Jiro-style ramen. However, while this might have been manageable in my 20s, at my current age, I found myself wishing for a smaller portion and a lower price. 320 THB (approx. 1400 JPY) felt quite expensive.

On another visit, I tried the “Mazesoba” for 180 THB, which turned out to be a hidden gem. Given its much lower price compared to the Jiro Ramen, I ordered it on a whim, and it was delicious. You can add various toppings, and it offers great value for money. I thought it would be even better with thick noodles.

Naruto Ramen Recommendation Score

To be helpful, I’ll assign a score similar to what you might find on Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site). For Naruto Ramen in Thonglor, I personally feel it would equate to around a 3.3 on Tabelog. I’ll leave this note here.

Conclusion

Naruto Ramen in Thonglor is recommended for those who want to try authentic, emulsified Jiro-style ramen! The mazesoba is also recommended for its excellent value.
