Introduction
I recently visited “Wine Connection,” a major wine restaurant and shop chain in Thailand, located about a 7-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong Station. I’d like to share my review.
About the wine restaurant and shop “Wine Connection” in Phrom Phong
The wine restaurant and shop chain “Wine Connection” is about a 7-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong Station. It’s also about a 9-minute walk from BTS Thong Lo Station. Wine Connection is located on the ground floor of a restaurant building called “Rain Hill,” at the entrance of Sukhumvit Soi 47 along Sukhumvit Road.
Wine Connection has numerous branches throughout Thailand, especially in Bangkok, offering both wine restaurants and wine shops. There are over 30 wine restaurant locations, with branches also in Singapore. They also have wine shops, including one here at Rain Hill, and I’ve noticed them in various shopping malls, so I believe there are more shops than restaurants.
Wine Connection is so well-known that it’s hard to find a wine enthusiast in Bangkok who hasn’t heard of it.
For those who love wine, I highly recommend checking the Wine Connection website. They occasionally host events where you can enjoy all-you-can-drink wine with all-you-can-eat cured ham and cheese for around 1000 THB. These events aren’t held at all branches but seem to be frequent at the Rain Hill and K Village locations in Phrom Phong.
Wine Connection Menu (Photos, Prices, and Review)
They offer 13 types of wine by the bottle, ranging from 550 THB+ to 999 THB+. This includes 5 red, 6 white, 1 sparkling, and 1 rosé. I find these prices quite reasonable, and the wines are served in good condition. If you ask, they will likely present a list of higher-end wines as well.
For a snack, I highly recommend the “Baked Camembert & 24-Month Aged Iberico Ham” for 490 THB+. The lightly baked Camembert cheese, with garlic cloves inserted, has an addictive flavor. The aged Iberico ham is also exquisite. It’s great served with French bread. The plate also comes with caramelized walnuts, dried grapes, and jam, which I personally enjoyed. It’s perfect for nibbling on while enjoying your wine!

Wine Connection Recommended Rating
To be helpful, I’ll assign a score based on the Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site) system. I personally rate “Wine Connection” as equivalent to a 3.5 on Tabelog, so I’ll note that down.
Conclusion
“Wine Connection” in Phrom Phong is definitely recommended for wine lovers! You can enjoy great value for money. The “Baked Camembert & 24-Month Aged Iberico Ham” is an excellent accompaniment to wine!
