Introduction
I recently visited the Kurume tonkotsu ramen restaurant “Seiryu Ramen,” located about a 2-minute walk from BTS Thonglor Station, and I’d like to share my review.
About the Kurume Tonkotsu Ramen “Seiryu Ramen” in Thonglor
Kurume Tonkotsu “Seiryu Ramen” is situated approximately a 2-minute walk from BTS Thonglor Station. It’s located along Sukhumvit Road. You can spot it by the large “青龍らーめん” sign on the second floor and the noren curtains and lanterns on the first floor.
Please note: As of December 2024, the restaurant has relocated two doors down. Due to the relocation, VAT is now applied.

Menu at “Seiryu Ramen” (Photos, Prices, Reviews)
Seiryu Ramen offers a promotion on the 1st and 16th of every month from 11 AM to 8 PM, where their tonkotsu ramen is available for 100 THB+. Normally, it’s priced at over 200 THB, so this is a half-price deal! On these promotional days, the restaurant often sees many Japanese customers and queues can form.
Seiryu’s tonkotsu ramen is Kurume-style, not Hakata-style. While I’m not an expert as I’m not from Kyushu, according to Wikipedia, Kurume ramen typically uses slightly thicker noodles and has a richer soup compared to Hakata ramen. Tasting it, the soup is indeed rich. Unlike some other tonkotsu ramen in Bangkok that can taste watery or thin, this is not the case here. I’m not sure about the noodle thickness, but after trying it several times, ordering them “katame” (firm) results in the perfect texture. Even without the promotional pricing, I believe it’s a delicious tonkotsu ramen in its own right.
A characteristic of restaurants in Bangkok is the extensive menu, and Seiryu Ramen is no exception. In addition to tonkotsu ramen, they offer options like Aka-kara Ramen (spicy red ramen), Kuro Mayu Ramen (black garlic oil ramen), Special Miso Ramen, Wantanmen (wonton ramen), Ajitama Ramen (ramen with seasoned egg), Spicy Ramen, Chashu Ramen, Special Ramen, Miso Ramen, Kurume Champon Noodles, and more.
Another promotion I tried was the beer and chicken wing set, “Kirin Ichiban Shibori and 4 Chicken Wings” for 200 THB+. They were normally good, but I didn’t find the deal particularly outstanding.

Seiryu Ramen’s Recommendation Score
To be helpful, I’ll assign a score similar to how Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site) does. For the Kurume Tonkotsu “Seiryu Ramen” in Thonglor, I personally feel it’s equivalent to a 3.4 on the Tabelog scale. However, on days other than the promotions on the 1st and 16th, I’d rate it closer to 3.2.
Conclusion
Kurume Tonkotsu “Seiryu Ramen” in Thonglor is a ramen shop where you can enjoy authentic tonkotsu ramen for a promotional price of 100 THB+ on the 1st and 16th of every month! If you’re a tonkotsu ramen lover, you should definitely visit every month!
