Kaprao Tapae is located about a 9-minute walk from Asoke BTS station. Head north on Sukhumvit Soi 21 for about 5-6 minutes, then turn right. Kaprao Tapae is situated between Soi 21 and Soi 23.
There is always a line at Kaprao Tapae. I get the impression there are many tourists and Japanese people. I visited around 2 PM on a weekday, and there were still 5 people in line.

I ordered the “Beef Gapao” for 159 THB. I chose the spiciest level, “Adult,” which is level 4 out of 4. They also offer a “Aged Beef” option for 265 THB, but since it was my first time, I stuck with the regular beef. You can also add a duck egg as a topping for 20 THB, but I didn’t notice that at the time and had the regular chicken egg. Water was 15 THB.
When I tasted it, it was spicy. Amidst the spiciness, I could taste the quality of the minced beef. Chewing the coarsely ground beef released a rich meaty flavor that spread throughout my mouth. The oil seemed to be of good quality too. It’s spicy, savory, refined, and addictive!
