Introduction
I recently visited the Korean BBQ restaurant “KOBQ Nimmanhaemin,” located along Nimmanhaemin Road in the heart of Chiang Mai, and I’m here to share my review.
About the Korean BBQ restaurant “KOBQ Nimmanhaemin” in Chiang Mai
The Korean BBQ restaurant “KOBQ Nimmanhaemin” is situated along Nimmanhaemin Road, a major street in central Chiang Mai. The name likely stands for “KOrean BbQ restaurant.”
Nimmanhaemin Road is approximately 1.6 km long. Lined with雑貨屋 (variety shops), clothing stores, restaurants, and hotels, it’s a popular area for strolls and shopping.

When you order food, you first receive panchan. Panchan are Korean side dishes, and refills are free. These alone are enough to go with 3-4 drinks (though I was abstaining from alcohol this day).
I ordered the “Samgyeopsal 269 THB+” which seems to be their signature dish. The portion of samgyeopsal was generous, weighing 250g. It also came with several types of panchan, making for a wonderfully abundant spread. The samgyeopsal was fatty, juicy, and delicious. While there were a few parts that were a bit too fatty or had concentrated cartilage, it wasn’t an issue when cut with scissors. Wrapping it with ssamchu, nareul (seasoned vegetables), and kimchi made it incredibly tasty. Personally, I loved the kimchi and the scallion namul the most. I also ordered “Rice 40 THB+.”
Incidentally, the grilled garlic with miso that came with the panchan was incredibly delicious!
I also tried the “Seafood Pajeon 275 THB+”. This was also delicious! I enjoyed it with the dipping sauce. The shrimp were plump and perfectly cooked.
A cola was 40 THB+.
Considering all this food for a family of four came out to just over 800 THB, the Chiang Mai pricing is astonishing! The interior was spacious and very comfortable.

Recommendation Level for “KOBQ Nimmanhaemin”
To be helpful, I’ll assign a score, similar to Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site). For the Korean BBQ restaurant “KOBQ Nimmanhaemin” in Chiang Mai, I personally feel it would be equivalent to a Tabelog 3.5. I’ll note this down for future reference.
The high marks come from the consistently delicious and high-quality panchan, samgyeopsal, and other dishes. Furthermore, all of this can be enjoyed at affordable Chiang Mai prices. Personally, I would prefer slightly better quality meat for the samgyeopsal (finer fat and less cartilage), even if it meant paying a bit more. The restaurant itself is spacious and very comfortable.
In Conclusion
“KOBQ Nimmanhaemin,” a Korean BBQ restaurant in Chiang Mai, offers delicious Korean food at great prices. The panchan and samgyeopsal are particularly tasty. Located in the heart of the city, it’s recommended after a stroll or some shopping.
