Introduction

I recently visited the toast specialty shop “Mont” located along Nimmanhaemin Road in the heart of Chiang Mai, and I’m here to share my review.

About the historic toast shop “Mont” in Chiang Mai

The toast specialty shop “Mont” is situated along Nimmanhaemin Road, a main thoroughfare approximately 1.6 km long in central Chiang Mai. This area is popular for strolls and shopping, lined with雑貨屋 (zakka shops), clothing boutiques, restaurants, and hotels along the main road and its various side streets.

Mont was established in 1964 and is a long-standing toast specialty shop. In addition to its Chiang Mai location, it reportedly has three branches in Bangkok.

Mont Menu (Photos, Prices, Review)

Mont offers toast menus, steamed bun menus, and drink menus. Toast is their signature offering.

I tried the “Vanilla Custard Toast” for 40B. It features crispy toasted bread generously topped with sweet custard cream. I visited after a meal, and it was perfect as a dessert – sweet, fragrant, and utterly satisfying. With 12 different types of toast alone, there are plenty of options to explore.

Mont Recommendation Score

To be helpful, I’ll assign a score in the style of Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site). For the Chiang Mai toast specialty shop “Mont,” I personally feel it’s equivalent to around a 3.3 on Tabelog. I’ll note that down here.

Its strengths are the affordable and delicious toast. It’s like a handmade fast food option, making it easy to enjoy on the go.

Conclusion

The toast specialty shop “Mont” in Chiang Mai offers delicious and affordable toast in a convenient format. Since they also have branches in Bangkok, I’m eager to visit them there as well.
