Introduction
I recently visited the casual Chinese restaurant “Dairen Hanten”, located about a 5-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong station. I’d like to share my review.
About the casual Chinese restaurant “Dairen Hanten” in Phrom Phong
Dairen Hanten is a casual Chinese restaurant located approximately a 5-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong station. It’s situated on Sukhumvit Soi 33/1, in the same alley as Fuji Super 1.
While many restaurants in Phrom Phong tend to be pricey, Dairen Hanten offers an affordable dining experience with reasonably priced dishes and drinks. In terms of being a down-to-earth Chinese eatery, it reminds me of “Long Cheu Restaurant” on Rama 4 (though Long Cheu is even more affordable).

Menu at “Dairen Hanten” (Photos, Prices, Reviews)
I tried the “Mapo Tofu” (150 THB). It had a light color and wasn’t very spicy, with a gentle flavor.
I also had the “Stir-fried Tofu with Celery, Carrot Julienne” (140 THB). Although I’m not a fan of celery, I found this dish to be delicious.
The “Stir-fried Long Beans and Eggplant” (200 THB) was sweet and savory, and very tasty.
The “Spicy Stir-fried Peanuts and Chicken” (200 THB) was also sweet and savory, and delicious.
The “Steamed Pork Dumplings” (150 THB) were good, but I personally prefer them to be juicier.
For reference, a large bottle of Singha beer was 120 THB.

Recommendation Score for “Dairen Hanten”
To be helpful, I’ll assign a score based on the Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site) system. For the casual Chinese restaurant “Dairen Hanten” near BTS Phrom Phong station, I personally estimate it to be around a Tabelog 3.1. I’ll note this down for future reference.
All the dishes are reasonably priced and reliably tasty, which is a strong point for a “casual Chinese restaurant.” On the other hand, the flavors aren’t particularly distinctive, and there don’t seem to be any signature dishes. If these aspects could be improved, the restaurant would be even better.
Conclusion
“Dairen Hanten”, a casual Chinese restaurant near BTS Phrom Phong station, is recommended for its accessibility and the ability to enjoy Chinese food casually in the Phrom Phong area.
