Introduction
I recently visited the cake & cafe “Platinum Hills Thonglor” located about a 16-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong station, and I’d like to share my review.
About the cake & cafe “Platinum Hills Thonglor” near Phrom Phong
Platinum Hills Thonglor, a cake & cafe, is located about a 16-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong station. To get there from BTS Phrom Phong, head north on Sukhumvit Soi 39, turn right at one point, and weave your way through until you find it. It’s behind Fuji Supermarket Branch 3. From BTS Thonglor Station, it’s approximately a 23-minute walk.
Platinum Hills has a takeaway & delivery branch in Prakanong, while the Thonglor branch offers both dine-in and takeaway options. The reason for the “Thonglor” name despite its proximity to Phrom Phong remains unclear.
Platinum Hills occasionally holds sales, and on this particular day, all sliced cakes were half price. When I informed them I would be arriving late, they kindly set aside items for me. Sale information is sent out irregularly via LINE.
※Since sales don’t seem to happen too frequently, the following review is based on regular prices.
Platinum Hills Menu (Photos, Prices, and Reviews)
I tried their signature “Mont Blanc (180 THB).” The Mont Blanc seemed to contain coconut inside. It might be a matter of personal preference, but as it’s their signature dish, I had hoped for a more traditional Mont Blanc.
I also tried the “Tiramisu (150 THB)” and “Strawberry Shortcake (170 THB).” These were classic and well-executed. The “Basque Cheesecake (140 THB)” had a pleasant caramel flavor. However, none of them were exceptionally outstanding, and considering the price, which is around 700 JPY, I hesitated to make a purchase.

Platinum Hills Recommendation Score
To provide some potentially useful information, I’ll assign a score following the convention of Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site). For the cake & cafe “Platinum Hills Thonglor” near Phrom Phong, I personally estimate it to be around a 3.1 on Tabelog. I’ll note this down.
These are cakes I would consider buying during their occasional sales. However, the Mont Blanc, their signature item, might be divisive. In terms of “authentic cakes by a Japanese pastry chef” at a similar price point, I felt that “JPC” in Thonglor and “Kashiya” in Phrom Phong were superior.
Conclusion
For the cake & cafe “Platinum Hills Thonglor” in Phrom Phong, the quality of the cakes seems to vary, so why not try a few different options during their sales?
