Introduction

I recently visited the cafe & bakery “Shirokumaya Cafe,” located about a 10-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong Station, and would like to share my review.

Cafe & Bakery “Shirokumaya Cafe” @ Phrom Phong

Shirokumaya Cafe is located about a 10-minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong Station. It’s situated along Sukhumvit Soi 39, heading north from the station, just before Bio House (Starbucks).

Shirokumaya Cafe is a sister store to “Shirokumaya Bakery” in Thonglor, which I previously introduced. Both locations offer the same types of bread, so for a detailed bread review, please refer to the Shirokumaya Bakery post. Their fluffy and chewy raw bread is exquisite.

Although I forgot to take photos, Shirokumaya Cafe has various sofa seating options, including semi-private sofa booths that resemble “kamakura” (snow huts). The seating is comfortable and spacious, making it suitable for families with children. There’s also a “cute polar bear mural” that both children and Instagrammers will love.

Shirokumaya Cafe Menu (Photos, Prices, Reviews)

I ordered the “Om Hayashi and Thickly Sliced Gyutan Bowl” for 250 THB. For an additional 65 THB, you can add side dishes and a drink. The side dish options include salad, soup, french fries, toast, and garlic bread.

I decided to try this dish because I wanted to taste the beef tongue but also sample other items. The portion size was surprisingly generous for cafe fare, about 1.5 servings. The beef tongue was plump and delicious. The omurice with Hayashi sauce, the salad, and the coffee were all tasty.

By the way, the weekday lunch sets are even more affordable, ranging from 199 to 259 THB. These sets include soup, salad, and a drink. The menu offers options like Tobiko Cream Spaghetti, Meat Sauce Spaghetti, Chili and Bacon Spaghetti, Gyutan Bowl, Tonkatsu Rice, Omurice Curry (Chicken/Pork), and Loco Moco Bowl.

They also have a kids’ menu available for an incredible 99 THB.

Shirokumaya Cafe Recommendation Score

To provide some reference, I’ll assign a score in the style of Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site). For the cafe & bakery “Shirokumaya Cafe” in Phrom Phong, I personally feel it corresponds to a Tabelog score of around 3.4. I’ll note this down here for future reference.

Conclusion

Shirokumaya Cafe, a cafe & bakery in Phrom Phong, offers a very comfortable atmosphere. With a variety of offerings including bread, set meals, and coffee, plus generous portions, it’s highly recommended for families with children.
