Introduction

I recently visited the kushikatsu izakaya “Ebisushoten” Thonglor branch, located about a 3-minute walk from BTS Thonglor station. I hope this review will be helpful, as there isn’t much information about restaurants, eateries, and street food in Bangkok online, and even fewer review sites like Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site), with most reviews limited to Google and Wongnai.

About the Kushikatsu Izakaya “Ebisushoten” Thonglor Branch in Thonglor

The kushikatsu izakaya “Ebisushoten” Thonglor branch is located about a 3-minute walk east along Sukhumvit Road from BTS Thonglor station. It’s situated on the south side of Sukhumvit Road (on the even-numbered soi side).

Besides Thonglor, Ebisushoten also has branches in Phrom Phong and Phra Khanong. While the happy hour times and menus may differ slightly between branches, they are generally the same. Interestingly, Ebisushoten originally seems to be an izakaya from Sapporo, Hokkaido.

Ebisushoten is an Osaka-style casual izakaya that operates from lunch until late night, offering a variety of Japanese dishes such as skewers, sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, soba, and udon. The interior is decorated with many lanterns, creating an authentic atmosphere of a Japanese casual izakaya. When I visited, the TV was showing “Hirunandesu” (a popular Japanese TV show).

I believe Ebisushoten is a superb izakaya for heavy drinkers looking to enjoy drinks during the day. The “Promotion 300” and “Happy Hour” are unbeatable! (I’ll explain more in the menu section).

As a side note, the name is written “恵美須” (E-mi-su) and not “恵比寿” (E-bi-su) (fun fact).

Ebisushoten Thonglor Menu (Photos, Prices, Review)

Ebisushoten’s menu features a wide variety of Japanese dishes, including skewers, sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, soba, and udon.

They also offer a great value set called “Promotion 300.” You can choose two drinks from options like beer, highball, premium lemon sour, sake, or umeshu sour. For appetizers, you can select either kushikatsu or beef tataki, and it comes with tamagoyaki (rolled omelet) and edamame. This set is quite filling on its own. If you’re wondering whether to choose kushikatsu or beef tataki, I personally recommend the kushikatsu! It’s their signature dish, so definitely give it a try at least once!

Furthermore, from Monday to Thursday, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, they have a Happy Hour where the aforementioned drinks are only 55 THB+ per glass! Happy hour deals are not very common in Bangkok, so this is a very useful offer.

Additionally, they seem to have recently established a “Kushikatsu Half-Price Promotion” on days with repeating digits (e.g., 11th, 22nd) (as of December 2025). Various promotions keep the drinkers entertained!

Ebisushoten Thonglor Rating

To be of some help, I’ll assign a score similar to Tabelog. Personally, I’d rate the kushikatsu izakaya “Ebisushoten” Thonglor branch around a 3.3 on the Tabelog scale. I’ll leave this note here.

Conclusion

The kushikatsu izakaya “Ebisushoten” Thonglor branch is recommended for heavy drinkers who want to enjoy drinks during the day. Make the most of the “Promotion 300” and “Happy Hour” to drink to your heart’s content!
