Nai Jo is located approximately a 15-minute walk from BTS Thong Lo Station. Head north along Thong Lo Road from the station, turn into Thonglor Soi 9, and it’s on your immediate left. Around lunchtime, Soi 9 is bustling with many street food stalls, and they’re all crowded. However, Nai Jo is even more popular, often having a long queue.
Boat noodles are a popular Thai noodle dish. You can find them at street stalls, eateries, and food courts.
Nai Jo’s menu has English translations. While neither Japanese nor English are widely spoken here, when I visited, there was a woman running a Khao Man Gai booth inside who could speak Japanese. She mentioned she runs a Japanese izakaya called “Mita” nearby.

Regarding ordering, like most boat noodle shops, at Nai Jo, you first select your dish and then choose your noodle type. I like crispy textures, so I chose the “Crispy Chicken Skin Chicken Noodles (Dry)” and opted for the “Chinese Noodles (Bamee),” which the staff recommended. The price was an affordable 50 THB. The sauce was well-balanced, and the greens like celery added a nice accent!
If you’re unsure about noodles, I recommend starting with Bamee. It’s the closest to the Chinese noodles (yellow noodles, egg noodles) you might eat in Japan. They also offer rice noodles, wide noodles, and instant noodles, so choose according to your preference!
