I recently visited “Ito-ya Thonglor”, an izakaya located about a 3-minute walk from BTS Thonglor Station, and I’d like to share my review.About the Japanese izakaya “Ito-ya Thonglor” in Thonglor
“Ito-ya Thonglor” is situated approximately a 3-minute walk from BTS Thonglor Station. While there is “Ebisushoten Thonglor Branch” along Sukhumvit Road, Ito-ya is located just off to the side. It has the feel of a small yakitori shop, but the grilling is done in the kitchen, so it’s not smoky.

Remarkably, the prices for yakitori and oden have remained unchanged for the 20 years since the restaurant opened! While nearby yakitori places sell skewers for 40 THB, Ito-ya offers them for half that price at 20 THB. Most oden items are also priced at 20 THB. Compared to other items on the menu, the yakitori and oden are exceptionally affordable. Consequently, I ordered a variety of yakitori and oden. Despite being inexpensive, both the yakitori and oden are delicious. When I asked the staff, they explained that the ingredients for yakitori are sourced from the market and skewered by Thai staff on-site. The oden ingredients are also market-sourced and simmered in a secret broth. It makes sense that they are both cheap and tasty. Because the yakitori and oden are so affordable, other menu items might seem pricier by comparison. However, the Ito-ya Highball is 99 THB, less than 100 THB. While there are various other food options besides yakitori and oden, items like steak and tataki are around 200 THB, which didn’t seem excessively expensive.
Recommendation Score for “Ito-ya Thonglor”
To be helpful, I’ll assign a score similar to how Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site) does. I personally feel that “Ito-ya Thonglor” in Thonglor would be equivalent to around a 3.5 on Tabelog, so I’ll leave this note.Conclusion
