Introduction
I recently visited the Japanese cake shop & cafe “Chez Shibata 365” located about a 5-minute walk from BTS Thonglor Station, and I’d like to share my review.
About the premium Japanese cake shop & cafe “Chez Shibata 365” in Thonglor
Chez Shibata 365, a Japanese cake shop & cafe, is located approximately a 5-minute walk from BTS Thonglor Station.
Chez Shibata is a Japanese cake shop with its flagship store in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, and two branches in Nagoya. It has overseas branches in Shanghai and Bangkok, with the Bangkok branch being “Chez Shibata 365”.
Chez Shibata is a high-end cake shop; in Japan, cakes typically cost around 700-900 yen each. Its Tabelog score is around 3.6, indicating it is well-regarded. It’s likely a popular choice in Nagoya and Tajimi for thoughtful souvenirs or for enjoying special moments with family.
Chez Shibata 365 in Bangkok takes the premium approach even further, with cakes priced around 195-420 THB each (approximately 900-1900 yen). Given that cakes in Bangkok are generally expensive, it’s best to enjoy them with that understanding. For comparison, Japan Pastry Cafe, located in the nearby Marche Thonglor, offers cakes at a more modest price of 128-150 THB each. While Japan Pastry Cafe’s cakes are simpler compared to Chez Shibata’s elaborate creations, they are still a good option. It’s useful to know the differences and choose accordingly.
Chez Shibata 365 also features a cafe space where you can enjoy your cake with a drink.

Chez Shibata 365 Menu (Photos, Prices, Review)
First, I tried the classic “Strawberry Shortcake” for 210 THB. The fresh cream was fluffy and Japanese-style. The sponge cake was also very light and airy. Although it had sliced strawberries and strawberry puree between the layers, the sweetness and hints of liqueur created a delicious flavor. I believe strawberry shortcake is a good indicator of a cake shop’s skill, and this one was quite good. I just wished it were a little more affordable for everyday enjoyment.
Next, I tried the “Salted Caramel Eclair” for 195 THB. This elegant éclair, shaped like a twig, was topped with salted caramel cream and butter. It was a delicious éclair—fragrant, with a perfect balance of bitterness and sweetness, and a rich flavor.
I also had the “Tranche au Chocolat” for 240 THB, which translates to “sliced chocolate confection.” This item truly highlighted the wonderful aroma of cacao.
For reference, a cafe latte costs 130 THB.
They also seem to offer cute gift sets, like the one in the last photo below, making them suitable for thoughtful souvenirs.

Chez Shibata 365 Recommendation Score
To provide a helpful reference, I’ll assign a score similar to Tabelog’s system. I personally feel that “Chez Shibata 365,” the Japanese cake & cafe in Thonglor, would correspond to around a 3.3 on Tabelog. I’ll note this down for future reference.
Conclusion
At “Chez Shibata 365,” a Japanese cake & cafe in Thonglor, you can enjoy fluffy Japanese-style cakes. It’s recommended for thoughtful souvenirs or for a delightful time with family.
