Introduction

I recently visited the conveyor belt sushi restaurant “Sushiro” located about a 3-minute walk from BTS On Nut station, and I’d like to share my review.

About the conveyor belt sushi restaurant “Sushiro” in On Nut

Sushiro is located about a 3-minute walk from BTS On Nut station. The On Nut branch of Sushiro is situated on the 3rd floor of “Century The Movie Plaza Sukhumvit,” a shopping mall directly connected to On Nut station.

Sushiro is a well-known conveyor belt sushi chain in Japan, holding the No. 1 spot in industry sales. With over 20 locations in Thailand, it’s likely a familiar and appreciated dining option for many, including Japanese expatriates.

In Bangkok, it can be difficult to find fresh sashimi of popular fish like tuna and salmon, as most are air-freighted from Japan or other countries. Consequently, sashimi prices in Bangkok are generally higher than in Japan, making sushi a rather expensive treat. Sushiro has undeniably made a significant impact on the sushi scene in Bangkok by making it more accessible.

It’s advisable to make a reservation during peak hours. You can conveniently book through the regular Sushiro app used in Japan.

Sushiro Menu (Photos, Prices, and Review)

Regarding prices at Sushiro, the red plates are incredibly affordable at just 40 THB (approximately 170 JPY). This price applies to tuna, salmon, negitoro, and white fish. While the flavor might be slightly affected due to air-freighting, there wasn’t a significant difference. My favorite, the “Tuna Yukke,” tasted almost the same, perhaps just a bit richer in flavor.

For reference, silver plates cost 60 THB, gold plates are 80 THB, and black plates are 120 THB.

The children, needless to say, ate a huge amount!

Sushiro Recommendation Score

To be helpful, I’ll provide a score based on the style of Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site). I personally estimate the On Nut conveyor belt sushi chain “Sushiro” to be around a 3.1 on the Tabelog scale, and I’ll note that here.

Conclusion

The conveyor belt sushi chain “Sushiro” in On Nut is recommended for families with children who want to enjoy conveyor belt sushi just like in Japan! The price and taste are not significantly different!
