Introduction

I recently visited the dessert cafe “After You” located about a 19-minute walk from BTS Thonglor Station, and I’d like to share my review.

About the dessert cafe “After You” in Thonglor

The dessert cafe “After You” is located approximately a 19-minute walk from BTS Thonglor Station. To get there, head north along Thonglor Road (Sukhumvit Soi 55) for about 17 minutes, then turn left onto Thonglor Soi 13 and proceed for about 2 minutes. As it’s a bit of a walk from the station, taking a motorbike taxi, tuk-tuk, or the red bus might be a better option.

After You currently has 40 branches across Thailand, primarily in Bangkok. There are too many to list, including locations in Siam, CentralWorld, ICONSIAM, MBK Center, Siam Paragon, Seacon Square, Asoke, Ekkamai, Bang Na, Mega Bangna, Silom, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai, and they are continuously expanding. The Thonglor branch is situated within a shopping mall called “J Avenue.”

After You always seems to be crowded, no matter which branch or time you visit. While there are many tourists and foreigners, it appears to be particularly popular among young Thai people.

As I’ll show you later, After You offers a menu item called “Shibuya Honey Toast.” For those familiar with Japanese desserts, this is the thick toast with cuts, topped with ice cream, whipped cream, honey, and other decorations. According to the official founding history of After You, the founder started baking using recipes collected from magazines and TV shows from a young age, and opened the dessert cafe shortly after graduating from university. The Shibuya Honey Toast was likely one of those early recipes, and it has now become their signature menu item.

After You Menu (Photos, Prices, Reviews)

I tried the signature “Shibuya Honey Toast” for 225 THB. The toast is thick, though perhaps not as substantial as some other honey toasts I’ve had. It’s about one-third of a loaf, I’d guess. It’s drizzled with honey, or perhaps maple syrup, and served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It’s sweet and makes you feel happy. You can’t go wrong with it.

The “Strawberry Pancake” for 225 THB is also delicious. It brings happiness, too. Given that strawberries are expensive in Bangkok, the price is a bit on the higher side.

The “Fig Pudding” for 195 THB is also quite good, served with vanilla ice cream.

I’m not sure if other branches offer this, but there was also a complimentary ice herbal tea service. It has a gentle flavor and is delicious.

Like all their desserts, eating them makes you feel incredibly happy. The interior is also stylish, and After You’s overall ambiance is wonderful. It’s recommended for dates and families with children. Surprisingly, I also saw groups of only men.

By the way, they have a wide variety of desserts. In addition to the ones mentioned above, they also offer chocolate cake, crumbles, strawberry plates, waffles, and shaved ice. Check out the official menu.

Recommendation Score for After You

To be helpful, I’ll assign a score based on Tabelog’s rating system. For “After You” in Thonglor, I personally feel it would equate to a 3.3 on Tabelog, so I’ll note that down.

Conclusion

The dessert cafe “After You” in Thonglor is recommended for those who want to feel happy with sweet desserts and a cafe experience! The cafe’s ambiance is wonderful and it’s a great spot for dates and families with children!
