Introduction
I recently visited the Rat Na restaurant “Khun Pa Rat Na,” located about a 10-minute bus ride from Phra Khanong Station, which is over a 30-minute walk from BTS On Nut Station. I’ll be reviewing it today.
“Khun Pa Rat Na” in On Nut
Rat Na is a Thai dish that translates to “sticky noodle soup” and is heavily influenced by Chinese cuisine.
The best way to get to Khun Pa Rat Na is by taking a bus from BTS Phra Khanong Station. Take bus number 519 for about 10 minutes. Get off near the temple “Wat Yan,” and Khun Pa Rat Na will be directly across the street.

Menu at “Khun Pa Rat Na” (Photos, Prices, Review)
I ordered the “Rat Na Mee Krob” for 60 THB, which is a crispy noodle dish with thick gravy. It’s highly recommended to add a fried egg on top for an extra 10 THB.

The gravy had a flavor similar to Chop Suey, perhaps a bit on the sweet side. The noodles were crispy fried noodles, seemingly fried in-house. You eat it by breaking the noodles and mixing them with the gravy. It’s important to get the right balance; if you mix too much, the noodles become soft.
This was my first time trying Rat Na, but it was very similar to the crispy fried noodles I’ve had in Japan, and it wasn’t difficult to eat at all. I think I’ll come back again when I crave crispy noodles.
Besides the crispy fried noodles, it seemed possible to choose from several other types of non-fried noodles for the Rat Na. There also appeared to be menus where the noodles were stir-fried with sauce instead of gravy.
Recommendation Score for “Khun Pa Rat Na”
To be helpful, I’ll assign a score similar to Tabelog (Japan’s top restaurant-review site). I personally estimate “Khun Pa Rat Na” to be around a 3.1 on Tabelog. I’ll make a note of it here.
Conclusion
For those who love ankake noodles, the Rat Na restaurant “Khun Pa Rat Na” in On Nut is highly recommended! It’s very similar to what you’d find in Japan!
