Bangkok Yakiniku Restaurant Ranking
We’ve created a ranking of recommended yakiniku restaurants in Bangkok. Surprisingly, there are many affordable yakiniku places for lunch, and this information is rarely compiled. We hope this guide helps you enjoy your delicious yakiniku experiences! *This article focuses on lunch, not dinner.*
About the Ranking and Scores
For the Bangkok restaurants we’ve visited, this blog records reviews based on food, drinks, atmosphere, cost performance, customer service, and more. The scores accompanying each review represent the “Restaurant Recommendation Level.” We use a scoring system similar to Japan’s top restaurant-review site, Tabelog.
For more details, please see “Bangkok Recommended Restaurant Ranking“.
Now, let’s announce the ranking!
1. Ginzado Soi 26 (Phrom Phong, Yakiniku, 3.7 points)
Recommended for those who want to enjoy classic Japanese yakiniku. The meat quality is excellent. The fantastic value weekday lunch is 280B++ and is surprisingly available on weekends and public holidays too. Rice, soup, kimchi, and namul are free refills. While the Nikko Hotel branch in Thonglor is also good, the Phrom Phong branch is even better. Perhaps due to good turnover, the meat tastes delicious, and the standalone building offers a pleasant atmosphere.

2. Ginzado Hotel Nikko Branch (Thonglor, Yakiniku, 3.7 points)
Like the Phrom Phong branch, this is recommended for those who want classic Japanese yakiniku. The meat quality is excellent. The menu is the same as the Phrom Phong branch, but the fantastic value weekday lunch is not offered on weekends and public holidays at the Thonglor branch. Located within a building, it has a more formal atmosphere.

3. Matador (Phrom Phong, Yakiniku, 3.6 points)
Recommended for those who want to eat a lot of yakiniku. The weekday lunch set (3-Assorted Meat Lunch Set) is 290B++, which includes generous portions of kalbi, harami, and rosu, plus an additional three types of “bonus” meat in a small dish. Only the rice is free refill. High marks for overall quality, including service, seating, and the kids’ space, making it a popular spot among expat wives.

4. Ranichi (Thonglor, Yakiniku, 3.4 points)
If you prefer classic, high-end yakiniku, “Ginzado” is the choice. If you prefer a more casual, neighborhood yakiniku joint, “Ranichi” is the one. Ranichi’s meat felt redder and more tender. You can enjoy a Thai beef yakiniku set for around 300B+. Rice and green tea are free refills.

5. Nikusho (Phrom Phong, Yakiniku, 3.3 points)
Previously, there was a happy hour for an additional 49B++ on the already affordable weekday lunch. However, with a major menu revision in June 2025, lunch prices significantly increased, and happy hour was abolished. The meat quality is undeniably good, but the cost performance is lower compared to other yakiniku restaurants in this ranking.

6. Hormone Shokudo (Phra Khanong, Yakiniku, 3.3 points)
Hormone Shokudo has an open-air feel, and since the tables are close together, you can enjoy a lively atmosphere with your fellow diners and those around you. When I visited, there was live acoustic guitar music. The yakiniku, offal, and drinks are all quite reasonably priced.

Their signature sauce has been passed down for 70 years. They offer 7 types of holiday lunch menus in three categories: authentic charcoal-grilled yakiniku lunch, set meals, and donburi, priced between 200-400B++.
